SELF GUIDED WALKING HOLIDAYS IN SPRING Spring is a great time for a walking holiday in the Axarquia and a good time to explore the cultural sights of Andalucia. In spring not only is the climate ideal for walking but also the hills are alive with flowers. In March you should also catch sight of snow atop Maroma the highest peak in the Axarquia.
Easyjet have just released details of flights for spring and summer 2009 and there are some great bargains to be had.
As an example book Casita Bonita for one week 4 people in March, April (excluding Easter) or May and it could cost you around £150 per person including flights. This is based on a mid week flight with Easyjet flying from Gatwick to Malaga and including one hold bag per couple. As we charge a prIce for the villa rental irrespective of the number of guests and the house sleeps 6 if you make up a larger party your cost per person comes down.
Outside the peak season of July & August we are flexible on changeover day so you can shop around for the best flights. Usually Sunday, Monday and Tuesday flights seem to be a little cheaper.
So is you want to escape from the doom and gloom of the economic downturn, it need not cost a fortune to take a trip to explore the Axarquia and the beautiful region of Andalucia taking a refreshing break to catch a little Spanish sunshineCheck out our pages on Walking in the Axarquia for more details on self guided walking. We are always happy to make suggestions for your itinerary and provide walking guides and itineries that take your from the doorstep of Casita Bonita on a variety of walks.
FAMILY HOLIDAYS NEED NOT COST A FORTUNE Casita Bonita has proved very popular with families and now is the time to book and take advantage of the early bird booking discounts offered by Easyjet on summer flights. We checked out sample flights from Gatwick to Malaga for a family of 4 flying out on Saturday 11th July at 13.00 and returning on Saturday 25th July at 10.05. We have assumed you need 4 hold bags. we found flights for just £421.40. To rent Casita Bonita for this 2 week period would cost £1190 bringing the total cost of the flights and villa to £1611.40 - just over £400 per person.
At Casita Bonita we have tried to create a family friendly environment with the essential pieces of equipment in the house to save on packing & save you money on the number of hold bags you need to check in.
The kitchen is very well equipped and a barbecue is provided. We have also provided our own Casita Bonita recipe book to help you get a little creative in the kitchen. You will have plenty of space indoors and outdoors including a fabulous large pool. The pool is only shared between 10 houses and it is rare that more than 3 houses are occupied at any one time.
MONEY SAVING TIPS
The key to keeping down the cost of your holiday is to book flights as early as possible as prices rise the closer you book to your departure date. Remember to book our villa we just ask for a 25% deposit with the balance due 6 weeks before your departure.
Eating in need not be a chore as our tried and tested recipe selections are big on flavour but easy to prepare. The house is equipped with a dishwasher and many kitchen gadgets so you will not be chained to the kitchen. The views from the house are spectacular so eating at home some nights saves money but you don't feel that you are missing out.
Another way to save money but still experience authentic Spanish cuisine is to order a paella from Bar David which is just a few minutes walk away. You can choose from a mixte, marinera or al pollo - a paella for 4 costs around 22 Euros and is very generous in size, looks wonderful and tastes delicious.
The tapas bar La Casona is a great place to take children but good for adults too. The menu features tapas, racione and main courses. The tapas or raciones are good for younger children as the portions are smaller - a tapas costs around 2 Euros. Situated in the Plaza Almijara you are right in the thick of the action - great fun and in summer you can comfortably sit outside until the early hours of the morning and
